This is the Kitchen Sync. A video series in which we force artists to perform some of their material in their own kitchen through the use of various different types of coercion like blackmail and threats of physical violence.
Well how else do you best get to understand a person if you aren’t rummaging through the contents of their fridge or collecting B-roll of their dirty dishes.
That and the overheads associated with doing it in their kitchen are way less than any sort of venue where people actually record and perform live music. This is the only place on the internet where you can see an artist's finest rendition of their art alongside their dirtiest hygiene habits in one neat package.
Kicking off the series is this month’s featured culinary criminal turned musician.
Leo Chavez
A direct descendant of former Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez (not really) and father of four (TBC), Leonardo ‘Chipper” Chavez spent the first few years of his life on a hillside in the cotswolds hunting and gathering. Since re-discovering civilisation, Leo has gone on to become a rather fine musician.
He’s a complete one-man band - producing, composing and creating all of his music, writing about universal experiences of youth in the modern world. Primarily operating in the alt-R&B, indie pop, and lo-fi Hip Hop spaces - Leo’s been releasing quality music since the pandemic and has kindly allowed us into his kitchen to showcase his talents performing his most recent single, ‘Bright Old Eyes’.
